Susan Ouriou’s first novel Damselfish was published by XYZ Publishing in the fall of 2003 and was subsequently short-listed for the Writers Guild of Alberta’s Georges Bugnet Award for Best Novel and the W.O. Mitchell City of Calgary Best Book Prize. A number of her short stories have been published in Canadian and American literary and general interest magazines and aired on CBC radio in English or in French translation, and she has been a regular participant on Radio-Canada’s annual “Printemps des poètes.” Her most recent short story “Violette, Bicyclette” was published in Alberta Views  in 2008 and in French in XYZ La revue de la nouvelle. It was also short-listed for this magazine’s Great Canadian Literary Hunt and subsequently won the 2009 Western Canadian Magazines Award for fiction. Susan has just finished her second novel, which is now with a publisher for consideration.
